Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, the leading real estate services company in the Bay Area, announced today that James Madison, an agent in the Santa Rosa office, ranked among the top 1,000 Realtors in the U.S. for home sales last year in a new report by The Wall Street Journal and REAL Trends.
The annual report ranked the top 250 agents and teams in four separate categories for 2010: individual sales volume, individual transaction sides, team sales volume and team transaction sides.
Madison ranked among the top 250 Realtors for transactions as well as sales volume. During 2010, he was responsible for 157.5 transaction sides and $39.7 million in sales volume, according to The Wall Street Journal and REAL Trends, a national communications and real estate consulting company that compiled the figures.
“I couldn’t be more proud of James, who serves the North Bay market so well,” said Rick Turley, president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage. “This national honor is a testament to his dedication and commitment to providing incomparable service to his clients. He truly is the best in the business, and I’m thrilled that he’s a part of the Coldwell Banker team.”
Madison has worked with bank-owned properties for nearly 30 years, and is one of the top agents in California in that segment of the market. He offers asset managers expert assistance in preparing and marketing distressed properties. He works with seasoned, experienced contractors and is known for creating a detailed and aggressive marketing plan to sell properties quickly.
Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage had the strongest showing of any real estate company in the Bay Area, with 32 agents and teams in the region making the prestigious list – more than three times that of any other local brokerage.
“Once again, the Wall Street Journal and REAL Trends study confirms what Bay Area home buyers and sellers have always known – the very best real estate agents work for Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage,” Turley said. “I’m pleased that consumers continue to place their trust and confidence in our agents and continue to choose us over all other brokerages.”
“The best individual agents and teams – including James Madison – were nothing short of phenomenal considering the challenging real estate market,” said Steve Murray, founder of Denver-based publishing and communications company REAL Trends, which compiled the list. “Ironically, if you look at the top 250 in each category you will find that collectively, their sales volume and transaction sides held up quite nicely compared with the market as a whole.”
Marti Gallardo, vice president of classified advertising for The Wall Street Journal, added, “Becoming a member of such an elite group as the The Thousand Top Real Estate Professionals is an incredible accomplishment in any market, but what James did during these challenging times is impressive on so many levels. His efforts topped 99.99 percent of the more than 1 million Realtors nationwide.”
