Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Kicks Off Second Annual Holiday Bay Area Food Banks Fundraiser

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage committed to matching up to $10,000 in donations to benefit local communities

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, the leading provider of real estate services in the Bay Area, announced today the kick off of its second annual fundraiser to benefit Bay Area Food Banks.  The real estate company has also announced that it will match up to $10,000 in donations collected from now until December 10.

Over the next five days, sales associates, staff and clients in all 42 Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Bay Area offices are encouraged to donate at least five dollars to help the hungry in their communities.  All donations will stay local and be distributed to food banks in Sonoma, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, Contra Costa, Alameda, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Monterey and San Benito Counties.  The public is encouraged to donate by logging on to www.events.org/foodbank.

“Our inaugural fundraiser to benefit Bay Area Food Banks was a great success and we’re looking forward to doing a tremendous amount of good again this year,” said Rick Turley, president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in the San Francisco Bay Area.  “We hope that the commitment from the Coldwell Banker Community Foundation to match up to $10,000 in donations will encourage thoughtfulness and generosity amongst our agents and their clients. The best part is that every dollar stays in the community in which it was raised.  That allows us the opportunity to directly impact those affected by hunger in our own neighborhoods.”

During last year’s Holiday Food Bank Fundraiser, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage collected $11,902 in donations and decided to match the full amount, for a final contribution of $23,804 to the Bay Area’s nine county food banks.

This Bay Area Food Banks fundraiser is just one of the ways Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage helps local communities each year.  For the past 12 years, the company has supported Northern California chapters of Habitat for Humanity, raising more than $2 million, donating more than 43,000 in volunteer hours and participating in the building of 127 homes.  It is currently holding its annual Toys for Tots and Operation: One Warm Coat collection drives, where offices have collected thousands of toys and coats, blankets and towels for those Bay Area residents in need.
